  1. The channel Islands is a group of islands in 
  2. the English Channel, off the northwest coast 
  3. of France, they are a possession of the 
  4. British crown. They comprise the islands of 
  5. Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Great and Little 
  6. Sark, with the lesser Herm, Brechou, Jethou, 
  7. and Lihou.
